Job description
At Emmi AI, we are redefining how industries innovate. Traditional simulations are slow, expensive, and computationally heavy. We make them fast, scalable and intelligent!
Our AI-Powered physics architecture and models unlock Real-time interaction, slashing simulation times from days to seconds.
Contribute to cutting-edge AI research and help redefine what’s possible in the industry!
The opportunity
You will get the chance to conceptualize and develop Physics AI surrogate models bridging the gap between basic research and real-world applications for semiconductor device and circuit modeling. Together, we will push the boundaries of current SOTA AI-based simulation technologies and publish at top-tier ML/AI venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR). You’ll utilize tools like PyTorch, JAX, and OpenFOAM on large-scale compute clusters, and thousands of CPU cores as an enabler for our projects and research.
We love AI, and have fun at work. This may manifest in things like…
… you value the beauty of smooth gradient norm curves as others do van Gogh paintings.
… you get uneasy when seeing idling nodes in our compute cluster.
… your mood is inversely proportional to the validation loss of your latest train run.
… tackling our most exciting problems as a team supporting each other when things get tricky.
… you tell all your family at dinner about the impeccable compositional structure of your well-documented Python code.
… but still value a healthy work life balance and care about the social impact of your work.
If you identify yourself with the above, scroll down!
What we offer:
Hybrid Work Model: Enjoy the flexibility to work from any EU time zone while staying connected to our Linz hub for in-person collaboration. We value the balance between remote work and face-to-face teamwork, typically meeting in Austria once a month for 3–4 days.
Research Hub in Austria: Stay connected to our hub in Linz, in the heart of Europe, just a short trip from Vienna with easy access to the rest of Europe.
Impact: Shape the future of industrial AI and drive meaningful projects. Enjoy the agility and impact that comes with being a part of a impactful, dynamic team.
Growth & Learning Opportunities: Attend conferences like NeurIPS, participate in offsites, and work in an environment that prioritizes research and continuous learning.
Competitive & personalized Benefits: A compensation package tailored to your needs and circumstances. As an early-stage company, we offer flexibility and are committed to shaping benefits that work best for our growing team, VSOP included as we continue to build!
Job requirements
About you :
You have a strong background in multiscale and multiphysics simulations of semiconductor materials relevant for device and circuit modeling. This allows you to identify limitations of state-of-the-art methods.
You are passionate about ML approaches and their potential to massively improve current models for and simulations of semiconductor materials.
You love engineering and coding and appreciate a clean solution even within research projects.
You are excited about bridging the gap between basic research and real world applications bringing the latest technological advances to our projects.
In cases where the state of the art is not ready for a problem you can’t wait to dig deeper, to do the required research to advance it and get the problems solved.
You are especially excited about at least some of the following topics:
Creating value for customers by solving pain-points and enabling new business & product opportunities.
Physics AI for imitating large-scale numerical simulations with AI
Developing and executing long-term, market-relevant research visions.
At Emmi AI, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We welcome diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences, believing they drive innovation and creativity. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, disability, age, or background.
