Job description
You will get the chance to work on industry-changing Physics AI surrogate models bridging the gap between basic research and real-world applications. Together, we will push the boundaries of current SOTA AI-based simulation technologies and publish at top-tier ML/AI venues (e.g., NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR). You’ll utilize tools like PyTorch, JAX, and OpenFOAM on large-scale compute clusters, and thousands of CPU cores as an enabler for our projects and research.
We love AI, and have fun at work. This may manifest in things like…
… you value the beauty of smooth gradient norm curves as others do van Gogh paintings.
… you get uneasy when seeing idling nodes in our compute cluster.
… your mood is inversely proportional to the validation loss of your latest train run.
… tackling our most exciting problems as a team supporting each other when things get tricky.
… you tell all your family at dinner about the impeccable compositional structure of your well-documented Python code.
… but still value a healthy work life balance and care about the social impact of your work.
If you identify yourself with the above, scroll down!
What we offer:
Hybrid Work Model: Work from Paris or Linz (easily accessible from Vienna) in a hybrid setup that balances in-office collaboration with remote flexibility. We value face-to-face teamwork while giving you flexibility in how you structure your week.
Impact: Shape the future of industrial AI and drive meaningful projects. Enjoy the agility and impact that comes with being part of a dynamic, early-stage team.
Growth & Learning Opportunities: Attend conferences like NeurIPS, participate in offsites, and work in an environment that prioritizes research and continuous learning.
Competitive & Personalized Benefits: A compensation package tailored to your needs and circumstances. As an early-stage company, we offer flexibility and are committed to shaping benefits that work best for our growing team, including VSOP.
What drives us:
Curiosity & Forward Thinking: We're always looking for fresh ideas, ready to question conventional approaches and bring creativity to AI and industrial applications.
Team Collaboration & Respect: We're team-oriented, value others' perspectives, and support each other's success to drive Emmi AI's goals.
Integrity & Accountability: We take ownership of our work and uphold high standards, whether collaborating within the team or with customers.
Adaptability, Resilience & Problem Solving: We thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, approaching challenges with a "how can we make this work?" mindset while staying resilient and adaptable to shifting priorities.
Customer Focused: We're passionate about understanding what our customers need and creating solutions that make a real impact in their world.
Job requirements
You love engineering and coding and appreciate a clean solution even within research projects. This comes natural to you because, you have a strong and divers set of (software) engineering skills (Git, Clean Code, working with Linux and Slurm, software testing, …).
You are excited about bridging the gap between basic research and real world applications bringing the latest technological advances to our projects and customers.
In cases where the state of the art is not ready for a problem you can’t wait to dig deeper, to do the required research to advance it and get the problems solved.
You are able to quickly understand real world industrial problems and able to tackle them with the appropriate state oft the art ML approaches and AI models.
You know how to utilize a large scale AI cluster to efficiently train and optimize large AI models across multiple GPUs and nodes.
You are especially excited about at least some of the following topics:
Creating value for customers by solving pain-points and enabling new business & product opportunities.
Physics AI for imitating large-scale numerical simulations with AI
Developing and executing long-term, market-relevant research visions.
At Emmi AI, we are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We welcome diverse perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences, believing they drive innovation and creativity. We encourage all qualified candidates to apply, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, disability, age, or background.
